A business associate in the book industry introduced me to Susan Castriota's wonderfully written and illustrated books about her dog, Wilson; I found her books to be a delightful read for adults as well as children. Her books are not only entertaining but also educational. Many people do not consider the effects their smoking will have on the health of their pets. Castriota provides a good example of what can happen to pets when they are subjected to passive smoke. She also illustrates how important it is to consider adopting a shelter animal when you are considering adding a new pet to your family.In Castriota's second book, Wilson gets the opportunity to teach young readers about the importance of good manners, which are essential for pets as well as people.
Reading these books will leave you with a warm, cozy feeling and a happy smile for Wilson and the other animals who have found new forever homes. I am looking forward to the next book in this series to be released!

Wilson Learns Manners is another book in a series of books written by Susan Castriota. Susan uses her books to teach and inform her readers about important issues in our world.This particular book is an excellent parent/child book which will promote a discussion about the importance of using manners.
Susan uses Wilson to introduce a manner on each page. Wilson explains how he uses each manner in his life and then gives specific examples for us. There is even a reference to etiquette in using a cell phone in public.
Manners have to be taught and there is no age limit for their application. I feel this is a valuable book for any family to add to their home library. I could see it used in a classroom setting so that children can see that manners are essential in any situation.
